17 million Hi-Tech Park to be built next to Riga Airport

Plans are in place to develop a hi-tech science park next to the Riga International Airport. The development project will cost 17 million euro, and financing for it also comes from the European Union structural funds provisioning investment and support for production facilities, the development of infrastructure or reconstruction. The territory will be 500 hectares large.

The new development project is by Science Park company (“Zinātnes parks”), owned by the Latvian Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry Association (LETERA) together with industry companies HansaMatrix, SAF Technika and LEO Research Center (LEO Pētniecības centrs). In building the new and energo-efficient multifuntional park, special attention will be given to nature-friendly building materials and production. The construction work is to be completed by the end of 2019.
