Latvian startups win big at the Latitude59 conference

Latvian startups Funderful and Coffee Pixels won in competitions at the Latitude59 conference held in Tallin. Funderful won the grand prize in the pitch competiton in the Seed category receiving 10,000 EUR award, and Coffee Pixels won the special prize from Fukuoka – a trip to Japan. The prize provides Coffee Pixels with an opportunity to work and live for a year in Japan and explore the Asian market.

Funderful is one of the most awarded startups of Latvia. At last year's Digital Freedom Festival they received the grand prize – a chance to attend the 500 Startups accelerator. The grand prize this year incuded not only a 10,000 EUR equity-free cash prize from TransferWise, but also 2,000 EUR credit for legal services from Hedman Partners, a 14 day trip to Silicon Valley, an exclusive invitation to the CEE All Stars Demo Day hosted by Startup Wise Guys, among other things.

Funderful is a fundraising software that helps universities increase alumni engagement and donations. Funderful clients span across eight countries, among them Oxford colleges, Cambridge colleges, London Business School, American University in Washington, D.C., USA, to name a few. Combined, education institutions have raised millions of dollars from alumni donations through the Funderful platform.

Coffee Pixels produces coffee bars, edible coffee in solid form. The first product was launched in October of 2016. It is currently available in all three Baltic states, and the plans are in place to expand in the rest of Europe.
