New journal Innovation to discuss science and business

A new journal Innovation discussion science and business was launched at the end of November by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia in cooperation with the Riga Technical University (RTU). The journal is quarterly and a copy of the Autum edition of the journal is available in English and Latvian languages at LIAA website:

The precondition for competitiveness of Latvia’s economy is the growth of productivity, which must be based on factors involving technology, production efficiency and innovation, according to the Ministry of Economics. Science and entrepreneurs are already creating innovative and creative products and services that are demanded in the global marketplace. At the same time, the saying goes that entrepreneurs and scientists speak different languages, that the business does not understand the significance of a research discovery and that researchers are not able to solve business problems. Is it true? What are the obstacles to the cooperation between the scientists and entrepreneurs? What will each gain from collaboration? How does it benefit the country’s economy? Can a scientist be a successful businessman? Answers to these questions will be explored in the new magazine Innovation.
