AGA to build new 8,3 million EUR production facility in Ropaži (Latvia)AGA to build new 8,3 million EUR production facility in Ropaži (Latvia) Company “AGA SIA” is planning to build a new gas production and filling facility in Latvia in the next 1,5 years. The factory will be located at the industrial territory of Zakumuiža in Ropaži, which complies with all modern technologies. AGA will produce and bottle gas and gas mixtures for industrial and pharmaceutical use and for the food industry. Besides that AGA will also produce a range of custom made innovative products with high added value, like for example odorized oxygen, several helium mixtures, dry ice and environmental friendly protection gas for welding. Over 30 people with various specialties will be employed at the new factory. “With the opening of the new factory we would like to develop our market range and optimize the logistics. The factory that since 1993 has been operating in Riga, was build on partly existing infrastructure, which at this time we can not effectively develop anymore. Several years ago we built an oxygen and nitrogen factory in Valmiera, which proximity to the new factory makes it possible to optimize supply of raw materials. The factory in Ropaži will be equipped with the latest filling equipment and technologies, similar to the ones used in Scandinavian and Western European factories. In the past years AGA has invested several million Lats in Latvia by creating new factories for supply in the Baltic States, says Olavs Ķiecis, AGA SIA managing director.” Planned investment is 8,3 million EUR. 1,7 million Lats will be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of EU Structural Funds programme „High Added Value Investments”. The project is assisted by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA). |
