From November 23-24, 2011 a matchmaking event for Latvian wooden houses manufacturers took place at the Edinburgh Napier University in Edinburgh (UK)

The event was opened by Peter Wilson, Director of the Wood Studio, Forest Products Research Institute at Edinburgh Napier University, followed by a presentation about the wooden houses industry of Latvia by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) Representative Office.
 
After the presentations of the Latvian participating companies, there was a light lunch served and the second part of the seminar continued with Charles Cormack from Cormack Consultancy Baltic presenting the Scottish market and business culture to the Latvian participants, followed by a presentation by David Hughes, senior partner of Saffery Champness about the UK business environment. Mr roberts Vitols from RCDAC Group shared his experience in working in the UK construction market. Stewart Cobb, director of Doig and Smith gave a presentation about the construction sector in the UK and Victoria Dunsmore, business development manager at Scottish Homebuilding & Renovation Show shared some useful information as well.
 
The third part of the seminar consisted of the opening of the exhibition “Wooden Buildings Heritage in Riga” followed by a reception hosted by the Napier University, The Baltic Scotland Enterprise Centre, Embassy of Latvia in the UK and Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) Representative Office in the UK.
The second day of the event started with a meeting with the Scottish Institute for Wood Technology, the Scottish Passive House Centre (SPHC) followed by a study trip to a construction site of wooden houses - the CCG production site.
