In cooperation with the airport, Rixport will become a business and communication centre of European importance,” says Ilmars Samsonovs, the director of „Rixport”. Construction of the first Office building commenced in June, 2008 and commissioning is planned in September, 2009. High quality office space from 200 – 2000 m2 is available for tenants along with developed service and customized solutions. In 2009 Rixport will start designing and building the second Office building with a total area close to 9000 m2. Along with office space, Rixport will host hotels catering to various comfort requirements. Construction of a well known 4* airport hotel chain will start in 2009 in parallel with work to extend the terminal and the hotel will be ready to accommodate its first clients in 2012. The venue will include parking lots, a park, the biggest exhibition and convention centre in the Baltics, as well as spaces for various services, recreational activity and trade. Rixport will serve as a modern, urbanized environment, providing convenience and a support function to its employees and airport passengers. The project will be completed in two stages. The first stage, by 2014 and consists of building six to eight office buildings, totaling 100 000 square meters, two hotels with 400 rooms, as well as extensive parking facilities. A convention centre, covering 40 000 square meters, will be created and the main infrastructure, including trading and recreational facilities, will be put in. The second stage of construction that will last until 2020 will see another two to four buildings, with total space of 50 000 square meters. A third hotel will be built, more parking spaces and a green zone. The finished urban area will include a well organized infrastructure and premises for various services. ![]() „Our aim is to make the business park „Rixport” along with Riga airport into the biggest and the best project in Northern Europe,” Petter Lundeby, Managing director of „Rixport” said. „ Since the growth of the airport has only just begun this is a good chance to learn from the most successful examples and their mistakes. I have been to many airports and business parks in the world, I can only compliment the airports in Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, but the potential of this project will exceed them all and we as investors believe in it.” Customers interested in renting premises at Rixport Business Park are kindly asked to contact Rixport directly at info@rixport.lv and for further information please have a look at www.rixport.lv |
