Kristine Grinvalde, Senior Investment Advisor After four years spent at the Financial Department of LIAA, I eagerly accepted the opportunity to join the Investment Team in June, 2007. Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Master’s degree in International Economic Relations from University of Latvia, as well as work experience in private and municipal sectors ensure diverse competence for working with investment projects. My main areas of expertise range from IT and logistics to large scale manufacturing projects.
Overall, I pride myself at being a hard worker and a keen traveller. Ever since I spent a high school year in the United States, I have been using any opportunity to familiarize myself with foreign cultures and experiences. For instance, my very first task as Investment Project Manager was to assist in organizing Japan Invest Tour to Latvia.
I speak fluent Latvian, English, and Russian, and in my leisure time I create beautiful floral arrangements, and study photography. Linda de Putane, Senior Investment Advisor After completing my studies at Royal Holloway, University of London where I acquired Bachelor of Arts degree in European Studies and Master of Science degree in International Relations, I returned back to Latvia and took up a position at the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia, European Affairs Division. I joined the Investment Promotion Division at LIAA in autumn 2007. My main responsibility is to promote Latvia for investment and trade via the network of more than 100 Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Latvia, however I also actively participate with servicing incoming investment project enquiries. I have experience working with various projects involved in the renewable energies sector, thus I have acquired valuable knowledge of photovoltaics, biofuel and biogas fields. I speak fluent Latvian and English and have a good command of Spanish and Russian languages. Toru Nagatsuka, Japan Coordinator I served in the Japanese diplomatic service for over forty years in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. Based on my experience in the Japanese government and contacts with business community I am promoting economic relations with Japan. I joined the Agency in December 2005, following two years at the helm of the Japanese Embassy in Latvia.
Apart from Japanese I speak English, Norwegian and some Latvian. Peteris Zarins, Investment Project Manager (Real Estate Competence) I have been working for LIAA since October 2007, initially performing the data sourcing duties within the Information Resources Division. This experience provided me with an ample exposure to fundamentals of the Latvian business environment and how they compare internationally, ranging from taxation and labour issues, aspects of education, construction, research and development to real-estate. When the right carrier progression opportunity came, I joined the Investment Promotion Division in December last year. My main responsibility is development and maintenance of the Real-estate data base where we have over 80 business properties available for the upcoming investment projects, both private and municipal, allowing us easily find the most suitable site solution for our investors. My home town is the East-North city in Latvia – Valmiera. I am a 3rd course student at the University of Latvia at the faculty of Political Science. Languages spoken: Latvian, English, Russian.
