Information on EU Common Market

LIAA operates the Enterprise Europe Network Latvia (EEN), providing businesses with information about European Union policies, legislation, regulations, and trade systems, and assists in finding business partners within the Enterprise Europe Network in more than 60 countries around the world.

Foreign Representatives

LIAA foreign representatives provide information about business opportunities in Latvia, relevant legislation, the taxation system, the national economy and external trade. Representatives promote and facilitate cooperation between Latvian companies and businesses in their respective country or region and assist in identifying potential partners.

Norwegian Financial Mechanism in 2014 - 2021 

On December 14 of 2017 the Minister of Finance Dana Reizniece-Ozola and the State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jens Frølich Holte signed the Memorandums of understanding on the Implementation of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism in 2014 - 2021. 
Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) is responsible for the implementation of programme, "Business Development, Innovation and SMEs ".
Programme objective:  Increased value creation and sustainable growth
Programme grant:  € 12 500 000
Programme co-financing:  € 2 205 882
Donor programme partner: Innovation Norway
Bilateral ambitions: € 125,000 shall be allocated to the programme from the fund for bilateral relations.

Sustainable Tourism Development

The Agency implements state tourism policy and promotes development of tourism as a sector of national economy in Latvia.

Activities fostering tourism development:

  • Implementation of tourism advertising and PR activities in Latvia and abroad, as well as activities for promoting sale of tourism products
  • Implementation of state and private partnership tourism development projects
  • Attraction of financial resources for tourism development
  • Popularization of Latvian tourism opportunities in local and international tourism market
  • Implementation of tourism development advancement activities in collaboration with tourism service providers – businesses (companies) and organizations
  • Provision of information and consultations to legal and physical entities regarding issues within the competence of the Agency
  • Provision of information to Latvian tourism service providers – businesses (companies) regarding the actions of tourists in extraordinary situations in Latvia or abroad
  • Arranging participation of Latvian tourism service providers – businesses (companies) and organizations in international tourism fairs
