Business.gov.lv kļūst par uzņēmēju vienoto digitālo kontaktpunktu

From February 19, entrepreneurs will have access to the new version of the business support platform business.gov.lv, which will become a single point of contact for state-provided e-services for entrepreneurs and those who are just planning to start a business.

The new version of business.gov.lv is the first step in the creation of a single point of contact for entrepreneurs as part of a broader development process that will continue until 2030, gradually expanding the range of services and digital solutions.

"The business environment must be clear, predictable, and digitally accessible. We are systematically reducing the administrative burden, and a single digital contact point is an important step in this direction. Entrepreneurs should not have to spend time searching for information in different institutions – the state must be able to provide it in one place, in a clear and convenient manner. Business.gov.lv is the foundation for modern, results-oriented public administration," emphasizes Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis.

"I would like to commend the LIAA for its ambition and investment in providing a unified range of state and municipal services that entrepreneurs need on a daily basis, helping them to access the services of administrative institutions more efficiently. I see Business.gov.lv as an entrepreneur's assistant – a guide to the range of state and municipal services necessary for entrepreneurship. The platform offers entrepreneurs in Latvia a unique opportunity – from an entrepreneur's perspective, it is quick, easily navigate and request the services they need in a specific business situation, without having to master the functions, responsibilities, and range of services of state institutions. Among other things, the Business.gov.lv platform will help entrepreneurs navigate the formalities of various business-related situations. I invite entrepreneurs to try out this new opportunity and provide feedback to the platform's owner, LIAA, for further improvement. Together we can do it!" Gatis Ozols, Deputy State Secretary for Digital Transformation at VARAM.

"Until now, only the e-services provided by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) were available on the business support platform business.gov.lv, but today we are taking a step towards a unified digital contact point for entrepreneurs. On the new platform, entrepreneurs will be able to apply for the e-services they need from a single website, according to their practical needs. Our goal is to make public administration more accessible and friendly to entrepreneurs," emphasizes LIAA Director Ieva Jāgere.

The single digital contact point

Business.gov.lv was developed with the support of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) to make the information entrepreneurs need more accessible, understandable, and structured.  The creation of such a platform will make it easier for institutions to implement the requirements of the European Union's Single Digital Gateway Regulation, which stipulates that information on services essential to entrepreneurship must be available digitally and in a user-friendly manner.

"Life situation" approach

The new version of business.gov.lv has improved search functionality and introduced a "life situation" structure that allows entrepreneurs to quickly find the information they need about starting, developing, and managing a business or making changes to a company. The platform contains information on more than 600 state e-services, support programs, consultations, licenses, and requirements for entrepreneurship.

It should be emphasized that business.gov.lv will function as a unified service catalog, providing explanations of the steps necessary to receive a service in one place.  The unified application will allow users to freely move between the services of the LIAA, SRS, Company Register and other institutions after authorizing themselves once.

Next steps

The further development of the platform envisages expanding the range of services offered and introducing artificial intelligence tools to provide more personalized and user-friendly information. By 2030, business.gov.lv plans to integrate other public services that are relevant to entrepreneurs, making the platform a comprehensive digital environment for entrepreneurs.

About the project

The platform is being developed as part of the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility investment 2.1.2.1. "Digital service platform business.gov.lv" in close cooperation with state institutions and business representatives.

Its development is taking place gradually – testing solutions, improving usability and adapting the platform to the real needs of entrepreneurs. Special attention is paid to the user experience during the development process – entrepreneurs are actively involved in testing and provide feedback on the usability of the platform.

The project "Digital Services Platform for Business Development" is implemented with funding from the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU).
