The Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) has made its debut in the “Baltic Brand Ranking” TOP 50 of Latvia’s Most Human Brands, ranking 37th overall and 13th among public sector organizations and companies. In the ranking, residents assess whether brands are socially responsible and promote positive change in society. LIAA’s inclusion in the ranking confirms the public’s trust in the agency’s work and reflects a positive assessment of its contribution to business development, export promotion, and attracting investment to Latvia.
This year’s study evaluated 368 brands across 40 categories, surveying 1,004 economically active Latvian residents aged 15 to 74. Alongside companies, public sector organizations and media outlets are also represented in the ranking of the most humane brands.
“What gives me the greatest satisfaction are the moments when an entrepreneur returns from their first trade mission with their first foreign client, or when a technology developed in Latvia attracts the interest of a world-class company. This also changes the entrepreneur’s own belief in how much they can achieve. We want more and more Latvian companies to experience such successes and grow internationally—to develop manufacturing here, create greater added value, and provide well-paying jobs. It starts with our colleagues’ interest and willingness to get involved, even when an entrepreneur is still just finding their way. That is why I am truly delighted by this recognition. Thank you to our team and to the entrepreneurs who trust us,” emphasizes LIAA Director Ieva Jāgere.
The LIAA helps companies prepare for export, find business partners, and reach potential customers at international trade shows and trade missions. Its network of overseas offices provides insights into local markets and helps establish business contacts. To turn these opportunities into deals, close cooperation with the entrepreneur and an understanding of their company’s needs are essential.
“Not long ago, we held a seminar and a meeting with SAF Tehnika’s partners and clients in France. We involved a representative of the LIAA in Paris in the organization, and the event took place at the Latvian Embassy. The meeting was a great success—the LIAA representative helped with organizational matters, and our partners and clients turned out in greater numbers than we would have expected if we had organized the event ourselves at a hotel. Latvia’s positive image also played a significant role,” says Jānis Bergs, Co-President of the Latvian-American Chamber of Commerce (LACC).
About the Study
The “Baltic Brand Ranking” has been studying the public’s perception of a brand’s humanity for nine years. Respondents are asked: “In your opinion, is this brand socially responsible (does it do good things for society)?” The possible answers are “yes” and “no.” The ranking is determined by the percentage of positive responses among respondents who are familiar with the brand. The ranking includes brands recognized by at least 30% of those surveyed.
Fieldwork for the study was conducted in June and July 2026. The study was conducted by “Norstat,” which guarantees its quality. The study includes brands created in the Baltics or brands that actively invest in marketing and advertising in the Baltics.
