Last autumn Alise Novikova, CEO of HMP Group, a fiberglass reinforcement product manufacturer, took part in the Mini MBA programme “Innovation Management” organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) in collaboration with the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga). She describes this experience as highly valuable, providing both new knowledge and a fresh perspective on business management.
“The impressions are excellent! I have only good things to say about the programme itself and how it is organised. It was a wonderful opportunity that can be useful not only for young managers but also boost the competence and inspiration of experienced managers,” Alise says.
For her, one of the main benefits had been the opportunity to establish close contacts with her fellow students from various sectors: “The programme brought together amazing people – professionals, each with their own unique experience. We keep in touch. That is an immense added value, and we happily use our contacts as a resource for gaining valuable advice or a fresh perspective from the outside.”
Alise especially highlights the high quality of the course and the balance between theory and practice:
“The instructors were excellent – knowledgeable and always open to discussion. I think the content of the programme struck a very good balance between theory and practice which is so useful in our daily work.” The accessibility and excellent organisation of the programme had been a nice surprise: “Even though it is a state-funded programme, the application process was simple and clear-cut.”
