Konference "Radiodays Europe 2026"

From March 22 to 24, 2026, Riga will become the center of the European audio industry for a few days, hosting the world’s leading radio, podcast, and digital audio conference, “Radiodays Europe 2026.”

The event will bring together more than 1,500 media professionals from over 65 countries, including executives from major public and commercial media outlets, podcast creators, technology companies, content creators, and audio innovation experts. The conference in Riga will become one of the most significant international media industry events in the Baltic region.

“We are very pleased to be coming to Latvia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Latvian Radio together.

Latvia holds a special place on the European audio industry map thanks to the close cooperation between the public and private audio sectors.

Latvia also boasts very interesting achievements by the private audio sector in the field of advertising. During the conference, we will focus on the latest trends and developments in the audio industry—artificial intelligence, podcasts, youth audiences, public value, diversity, programming, and technological innovations, bringing together partners from across Europe in Riga,” emphasizes Peter Niegel, Director of Radiodays Europe.

The conference program will feature a number of internationally recognized leaders in the audio industry, including Cilla Benkö, Director General of Swedish Radio; Mohit Bakaya, Head of BBC Radio 4; Ryan Merkley, Chief Operating Officer of U.S. public media NPR; and Kristian Porter, Executive Director of the Public Media Alliance. Experts in technology, journalism, and podcasting from the BBC, The New York Times, Spotify, MIT Technology Review, and other leading organizations will also speak in Riga.

"Radiodays Europe is one of the most significant events where the audio industry comes together to discuss its future—from content and creativity to technology and new listening habits. That is why we are particularly pleased to be able to bring together European radio, podcast, and other audio professionals in Riga this year. Latvian Radio celebrated its centennial last year, demonstrating radio’s ability to evolve with the times, and this conference offers the opportunity to be part of a broader conversation about the future of the audio industry,” notes Baiba Zūzena, Chair of the LSM Board.

The conference will also bring together professionals from Latvia’s media sector—radio hosts, producers, researchers, and content creators—thereby creating a platform for international collaboration and the exchange of new ideas.

“Hosting Radiodays Europe in Riga is a significant testament to Latvia’s ability to host high-level international media industry events. Such conferences help Latvia become more visible on the global creative industries map, while fostering new partnerships, the exchange of ideas, and opportunities for collaboration between international and Latvian media professionals,” emphasizes Ieva Jāgere, Director of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia.

Over the course of three days, the conference will discuss the industry’s most pressing issues—the future of radio in the age of artificial intelligence, the development of podcasts, changing audience habits, the role of trustworthy public media, as well as how media can engage the younger generation in the digital age.

Radiodays Europe is the world’s leading conference for the radio, podcast, and audio industries, bringing together leading media companies, technology innovators, and content creators annually. The event serves as a platform for generating new ideas, discussing industry trends, and building international connections.

Hosting Radiodays Europe 2026 in Riga will further strengthen Latvia’s position as a destination in Europe for creative industries, media innovation, and international professional events.
