Ceturtā Latvijas FinTech foruma uzmanības centrā – nozares stratēģiskā loma

This autumn, on 30 September Riga will host the fourth Latvia Fintech Forum that will bring together fintech policy makers and fintech ecosystem stakeholders from the Baltic States and other European countries for a discussion on the development of the fintech sector and its contribution to the European economic growth. The Forum will be opened by Arvils Ašeradens, the Minister of Finance.

"Fintech is no longer just reshaping the way we think about finance – it is redefining economies, creating opportunities, and setting new global standards. Latvia has proven that with ambition, talent, and collaboration, we can stand among Europe’s most dynamic hubs. The Latvia Fintech Forum provides a place where ideas turn into success stories," highlights Mārtiņš Kazāks, the Governor of Latvijas Banka, inviting to participate in the Forum.

The Fintech Forum is organised by Latvijas Banka in cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and the Investment and Tourism Agency of Riga (RITA).

This year, the first part of the Forum will focus on the strategic development of the fintech sector. The Forum aims to explore the 2025–2027 development strategy of the Latvian financial technology sector and, together with several members of the European supervisory bodies, to discuss which factors are essential for the rapid development of the fintech sector and how fintech strategies of individual European countries can contribute to the overall competitiveness of Europe.

"The fintech sector is of strategic importance in Latvia: we aim to become one of the three leading centres in the Baltic States and the Northern Europe. We plan to achieve this goal by increasing the number of companies by 30%, the amount of attracted financing by 15%, and the number of new jobs by 18%," underlines Ieva Jāgere, the Director of LIAA.

The second part of the Forum will focus on practical issues: during the panel discussion "Ask us anything", experts from Latvijas Banka, LIAA and RITA will answer questions from the audience. In the Q&A session, the participants will be able to ask questions to experts of Latvijas Banka on licensing, supervision, payment services, and the opportunity to connect to the Electronic Clearing System of Latvijas Banka etc. Representatives of LIAA and RITA will answer questions on support schemes available for fintech start-ups in Latvia and in Riga.

"Riga is becoming an ever more attractive place for fintech companies: it is a place where a dynamic environment, a strong pool of talents, and international cooperation partners meet. I am truly proud of our achievements and the fruitful cooperation between Latvijas Banka, the sector, and the city. Together, we are creating a supportive environment for the innovation and companies in Riga. The Fintech Forum is a great opportunity to meet, share experiences and find new cooperation partners here in Riga," invites Fredis Bikovs, the Director of RITA.

During the 2025 Fintech Forum, a competition for fintech start-ups organised by accelerator Tenity, an international participant of the innovation ecosystem, will also take place.

Networking is a significant part of the Fintech Forum: this year, the participants of the Forum will be able to use a networking app and pre-book meetings with other participants.

The Forum will take place in Riga, at the Small Guild, on 30 September. The Forum will open at 10 a.m, while the networking will start at 8.30 a.m. For more information on the Forum and its programme, please see: fintechforum.lv.
