Innovative companies from the wood processing and construction sectors are invited to join a trade mission to Sydney, Australia, taking place from 27 April to 1 May 2026 within the framework of Sydney Build 2026.
Sydney Build is Australia’s largest construction and design conference, attracting more than 28,000 developers, construction engineers, architects, and builders from leading Australian companies in the previous year.

The Australian construction industry accounts for approximately 10% of the country’s GDP, making it the fifth largest sector in the national economy. Participation from Latvian companies has been growing steadily, and exports of wood products to Australia increased significantly in 2025, highlighting rising demand for sustainable building materials and the strong competitiveness of Latvian manufacturers.
This trend is reinforced by Australia’s housing shortage, skilled labour constraints, and government policies that increasingly support industrialised, modular, and timber construction as faster and more environmentally friendly solutions. As a result, Australia is becoming a strategically important market for companies offering certified, high value-added timber products and innovative construction technologies.
The goal of the trade mission is to:
- Attend the Sydney Build Conference and Exhibition
- Establish new business contacts and partnerships
- Meet potential clients and cooperation partners
- Gain insight into Australian construction trends and market opportunities
All participants and visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to meet Latvian entrepreneurs, exchange expertise, and build long-term international business connections.
Preliminary Programme

- Individual B2B meetings with construction and development companies in Sydney (tailored to each participant’s interests)
