On December 14, 2017 the Minister of Finance Dana Reizniece-Ozola and the State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jens Frølich Holte signed the Memorandums of understanding on the Implementation of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism in 2014 - 2021.

On 15th October 2020, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) launched Norway Grants programme “Business Development, Innovation and SME’s”. During the event, participants were introduced to the topics that cover main activities of the programme, areas to be supported, available funding and aid intensity. The programme launch video.

On 7th January 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the regulation of the “Business Development, Innovation and SME’s” Programme of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-200. Entrepreneurs will have access to a total of EUR 14,7 million in funding for innovative business development. Translation of approved regulation is available here: https://eeagrants.lv

Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) is responsible for the implementation of programme, "Business Development, Innovation and SMEs ".

Programme objective: to encourage the development of higher added-value products and services in three areas: green innovation, welfare technologies, and information and communication technologies

Programme grant:  € 12 500 000

Programme co-financing:  € 2 205 882

Donor programme partner: Innovation Norway

Bilateral ambitions: € 125,000 shall be allocated to the programme from the fund for bilateral relations.
