On Tuesday, May 30th at 19:00 EET / 12PM ET, the business webinar series Mini Spotlight will be officially launched. The series showcases key information about Latvian business development and export potential, as well as success stories of Latvian companies in the American marketplace

Mini Spotlight is organised by the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), the Latvian American Chamber of Commerce (LACC) and the Latvian exporters' association “The Red Jackets". Mini Spotlight will present 10 webinars starting in May, 2023 and lasting through 2024. These webinars also support the upcoming business conference “Spotlight Latvia” to be held in Boston, MA on September 21st and 22nd of this year. The Spotlight Boston event aims to gather 250+ attendees and will feature key government, academic and private enterprise / business leaders to focus on the conference’s themes of technology (biomedicine, pharma, bioeconomics) and education (fostering human capital in STEM).

The target audience of the webinars are the Latvian diaspora in the USA, American companies considering entering the EU / Latvian market or collaborating with Latvian exporters. Mini Spotlight listeners will also have the opportunity to learn more about Latvia's international positioning– Mission Latvia. It's a story about our people with a sense of a mission - talented, creative and ready to find a solution in the most challenging situations. Latvians living abroad will be invited to join the community of Mission Latvia.

The first of the webinars will be opened by the Ambassador of Latvia to the USA, Māris Selga and the head of the LIAA representative office in the USA, Toms Zvidriņš. They will be joined by the SAF Tehnika CEO Normunds Bergs, the chairman of the board of MikroTik John Tully and Board Member of Azeron Jānis Kūlbārdis who will have a round table discussion. During the discussion, the participants will share stories about the progress of their companies in the USA market, the history of their companies path to exporting to the USA, as well as the lessons learned during export promotion. At the end of the webinar, participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions online and discuss possible cooperation opportunities.

Lauris Lambergs, chairman of the board of LACC: "We are very pleased to start this series of webinars that will introduce this year's Spotlight conference, which will gather a wide range of Latvian companies and state officials to cast a light on the achievements of Latvian companies and opportunities to cooperate with the USA companies. We are sure that Latvian entrepreneurs have innovative products and services for which the vast USA market is full of opportunities."

Toms Zvidriņš, head of the LIAA representative office in the USA: "Latvian entrepreneurs from various technology-related sectors in the world have already shown themselves as highly competent and capable producers and service providers." Mini Spotlight's webinar cycle is another great opportunity for these leading companies to reach potential customers, partners and a business audience in USA. We hope that this initiative will provide new cooperation opportunities for entrepreneurs from both countries and will inform viewers in the USA about Latvia's success stories.”
