Latvia is stepping into the spotlight of the international investment community. In June 2026, Riga will host the 4th Annual Aftercare Forum — the only global gathering focused entirely on FDI aftercare and the long-term success of foreign investors. Organised by Cities & Collaboration and hosted by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), the Forum will bring together investment promotion leaders, policymakers, academics, and global investors to define the future of post-investment services.
Why aftercare? Why now?
Investment aftercare has become a strategic priority for countries competing not only for new investment projects, but also for reinvestment, expansions, and value creation that grows over time. As businesses worldwide rethink supply chains, talent location, and sustainability commitments, the ability of host economies to support established investors has become a major competitive advantage.
The Forum’s 2026 theme, Tech-Powered Aftercare, reflects this shift. The discussions will focus on how investment promotion agencies use data, digital tools and partnerships to build resilient value chains, accelerate green transitions, and strengthen talent development. The programme is designed to ensure practical learning, peer benchmarking, and new strategies ready to implement the moment participants return home.
A year-long journey: The Road to Riga
For the first time, the Forum will be accompanied by a full calendar of global activities called the Road to Riga. It includes:
- Free online Aftercare Talks throughout the year
- An Online Aftercare Masterclass in May 2026
- The flagship Aftercare Forum Riga 2026 on 3–5 June
This structure gives professionals continuous access to learning, tools, and a supportive global community — not just a single event.
Why Latvia was chosen
Latvia has emerged as a Baltic leader in investment growth. In the past year alone:
- €655 million in investment was secured
- 100 new projects were launched
- More than 500 international investors now operate in the country
Recent reforms at LIAA and stronger government alignment have placed aftercare at the centre of Latvia’s economic development strategy. A national focus on digital tools, structured investor feedback, and coordinated support is helping international companies grow seamlessly in Latvia.
By hosting the Aftercare Forum, Latvia will showcase this evolving model and invite global collaboration to further advance the field.
A special week for the investment community
The Forum will also coincide with a major global policy event — the EBRD Annual Meeting in Riga on 5–7 June 2026. This provides a unique opportunity for participants to stay connected to high-level discussions shaping investment trends in Europe and beyond.
